Scientist have discovered that coral reefs could be gone in 20 years. If the water continues to warm up then more and more coral will die. If this happens many marine life would go extinct without homes to live in. People have made marine protected areas where fisherman can't catch fish for food. People are also trying to reduce greenhouse gases so the water becomes cooler. Countries have made national parks to help raise money into protecting the coral reefs.

Just to let ya know.....
Coral reefs are one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. And they are disappearing at an alarming rate. Scientists estimate that most coral reefs will be gone by 2030. People and nature together are helping in the destruction of the reefs. Since we cannot control nature, we should do all we can to try and preserve the reefs.
